SERIAC

 

Hampshire is a member of SERIAC (South East Region Industrial Archeology Conference) comprising the I.A. societies of Berkshire, Greater London, Kent, Surrey and Sussex as well as Hampshire.  The societies take it in turns to organise an annual conference.

 

 

SERIAC 2017 is being hosted by Sussex IA Society at Worthing College, Worthing on Saturday, April 22, 2017.  See here for programme and booking form.

SERIAC 2016 was hosted by Surrey Industrial History Group on Saturday, April 23rd, 2016 at the Holy Cross Preparatory School, Kingston, Surrey.

SERIAC 2015 was hosted by Hampshire Industrial Archaeology Society (HIAS) on April 25th, 2015 at the Ashburton Hall,  Elizabeth II Court, Sussex Street, Winchester, SO23 8UJ.  Some 120 people attended to hear 6 speakers. Synopses of the talks can be found here. Overall it seemed a success with delegates.

SERIAC 2014 was hosted by Greater London  Industrial Archaeology Society (GLIAS) and was held on the April 12th, 2014 at the Royal Russell School, Croydon.

SERIAC 2013 was hosted by Kent Archaeology Society (KAS) and was held at Dartford Grammar School in the Mick Jagger Theatre on April 27th, 2013. Report available here.

SERIAC 2012 was be hosted by Berkshire Industrial Archaeology Group (BIAG) and was held at St Bartholomew's School in Newbury on April 28th, 2012. Report available here.  

SERIAC 2011 was hosted by Sussex Industrial Archaeological Society and held at the University of Sussex, Brighton on Saturday,  April 16th, 2011. A report by the HIAS secretary can be found here.

SERIAC 2010 was hosted by Surrey Industrial Archaeological Society and held on Saturday, 24th April 2010 at Chertsey Hall, Heriot Road, Chertsey, Surrey.

SERIAC 2009 conference was hosted by HIAS and titled "I.A in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight".  It was held on Saturday, April 29th in Winchester's Guildhall with over 200 attendees.   A report by the HIAS secretary can be found here.

SERIAC 2008 conference was hosted by GLIAS, Greater London Industrial Archaeological Society and held on Saturday, April 19th,  2008 at University of East London, Docklands Campus, London E16 2RD.

SERIAC 2007 was hosted by BIAG, Berkshire Industrial Archaeological Group and held on Saturday, April 21st, 2007 at the John Madejski Theatre, University of Reading.

SERIAC 2006 was hosted by Sussex Industrial Archaeological Society and held on Saturday, 22nd April 2005 at Chichester Hospital, Chichester

SERIAC 2005 was hosted by Surrey Industrial Archaeological Society and held on Saturday, 23rd April 2005 at Chertsey Hall, Heriot Road, Chertsey, Surrey.

SERIAC 2004 was hosted by HIAS on Saturday, April 17th, 2004 at Churcher's College, Petersfield.   A report by the HIAS secretary can be found here
